Interview with Diastro about his album 'Ambrosia', creativity and future plans

Hey Diastro

Sgood brodie?

For the people that are new to your work or don't know you yet, can you introduce yourself?

Hi, my names Diastro and I fucking hate the beach but I'll still play truth or dare with pussy hair all in my teeth.

Wait, is this our 1st date or an interview? Lmao I'm a musician/actor/comedian/Dad with 3 kids from Brockton, Massachusetts (that's in the U.S. for those who are overseas) and I'm here repping Cult Muzic baby!

#WeAreTheWave"

You just released your new album 'Ambrosia'. It's def something new in the underground scene. What inspired you to make this?

Thanks, Bro! Well, I made the intro thinking it would be funny to start a tv show that way and it just kinda went from there. I love concept albums so I thought this was a cool way to connect everything

Your friend and underground cult hero Van aka Black Hesher sadly passed away this year. Was it hard to pick up releasing music after his death?

I never really stopped. Van and I had the kinda relationship where we just kept inspiring eachother to make art. He would always say things like "When I die, you gotta get Sinbad to play my Dad in the movie of my life" or "When I die,   I'm making everyone famous". Everything was another adventure. So when he passed it didn't feel like the end, it felt like his next crazy idea that we were doing lol. He was actually supposed to be on a couple tracks from "AMBROSIA" so when he passed, I wanted to make sure he was still on the record. That's where I got the idea for "Ghost Friend" and to add his voice in between songs. He's still all over this album.

Where do you find your creative input on a daily base?

My brain goes on like a radio on random or someone flipping through the channels most days. So it's more of just seizing the right moment at the right time. My art is like a highlight reel of all the weird shit I was thinking.

You are a singer, MC and even an actor! This question may be hard, which discipline is your favorite?

Favorites are a hard sell for me lol. I think everything has it's place.. I just love the arts, man. That's why I'm finding more and more ways to blend all of them together so I don't have to pick. I'll probably end up starring in a musical I produced one day lol.

Can fans expect more Diastro projects in the near future?

I'm working on new projects with the homies in Cult Muzic. I don't wanna go too into detail but we have a dope concept for another Van inspired mixtape called "Stereo Boys" featuring the whole crew, a new Comfortably Scum record with Illtemper and Zak Meister is in the works and we have solo albums lined up that I have features on too. As for a new Diastro record... there might be some bonus channels that will be released 🤐
All that and more coming from www.cultmuzic.com

Who are some musicians that you wanna work with in the future?

I wanna make music with everyone, yo. Who knows what's next???

What would you say to people that want to start making music, but are in doubt/insecure about it?

Just pretend everyone is naked and shoot porn instead. You'll make more money lol. Nah, man. I think it's very important for humans to create and fully support people pushing past their limits in search of that next spark.

Do you have any shout outs or special things you wanna mention?

I have 3
1. Hi, Mom!
2. I love everyone!
3. Magic is real"

Thank you for the interview!

Thanks for having me homie, great questions!
