Review:
Tha Soloist (MC) and Dr. G (Producer) are back with another project!
The project is a dedication to hip hop head Salvatore Paul Occhipinti.
Before going into the review I personally wanna say: Sal was a good dude and it's a tragedy that he lost his life at such a young age. I had great convo's with him about Linkin Park and hip hop groups from time to time.

With that said: let's get to the project! It's no new news that Tha Soloist and Dr. G are a musical duo with a good chemistry. Tha Soloist sounds really comfortable and strong on the beats delivered by Dr. G. The two musicians definitely know how to create a great project together and deliver each other the right ingredients to do this. The sound that Dr. G delivers is very versatile. 'Rain Down' has a beat that gives me a bit of Dipset feeling with the vocal chop in it, while tracks like 'I Remain I' give me more of a Gangstarr / DJ Premier feel. Dr. G is a producer that is defo comfortable with multiple styles in boom bap and this project shows it well! I personally don't like it when all the beats sound a bit the same. Dr. G defo made this project sound interesting sound design wise!

Tha Soloist is an MC that should write books. I can listen to his lyrics forever. The lyrics are always deep and make you think twice about them. I won't deny that I am big fan of the poetry of Tha Soloist. Besides the poetic bars, Tha Soloist flows really smooth on every beat. The beats have different tempo's and Tha Soloist is not shy with switching his flow to deliver the best fitting vibe on every beat.

Favorite track:
It's hard to pick a favorite track when every track has a really dope beat and and fitting bars with a lot of depth to them. I think that my vote goes for 'Dearly Beloved'. I like the sinister, yet relaxing beat by Dr. G and Tha Soloist has amazing bars with some inspiring words on this track. Tha Soloist really opened his soul on this one!

Long story short:
I can recommend this album to everyone that loves poetry. If you like hard bars over heavy beats like Benny The Butcher projects, this might not be for you. I still wanna recommend everyone to check this out, because this is the type of hip hop that I like to see more. This project shows that hip hop doesn't have to be about guns, girls and street life all the time. Tha Soloist is know for his poetic bars and once again he did what he can do best! Dr. G provided the perfect beats for that!
