Interview with ILLtemper about the success story of Even Heathens

Peace ILLtemper, how have you been? I wanted to talk with you about the on-going success of Even Heathens.

First of all how did Gordy and you connect at first and how was Even Heathens formed?

I reached out to him for a collab like 5 years ago. After the song dropped we were talking and decided to form a group. I thought the name Even Heathens would be a dope name. Also thought Odd Gods would be a cool name but went with Even Heathens. Later we ended up name 3 albums Odd Gods , Odd Gods 2 and Odd Gods 3.

How was it linking up with Gordy in person and making these videoclips together? Was it easy for you guys during the pandemic?

Yeah we first linked up around the time covid was happening. I guess it’s still happening but no one cares now. I drove to Detroit and we filmed with Roxx. He became the dude we had a video done by. That was back when we had to wear mask in the stores. Everyone was scared of dying but dying has been a dream of mine since a kid.

I want to congratulate you guys on signing with LSP. Peace to the homie SCUM! What can the fans of both LSP and Even Heathens expect with this signing / collaboration?

Thanks bro! We signed for a 2 album deal. Scum is the man and a good friend. We got some killer merch coming out soon that my bromie Killator designed. 

What does Even Heathens have in stock for the near future?

We aren’t stopping anytime soon. Even Heathens got more of a buzz then I thought and our fanbase is the greatest. As long as we continue to profit and our fans still love us we’ll keep going. We love doing this shit also and Gordy is my favorite artist ever. He became a brother to me.

Can you name some artists you guys defo still want to work with?

 

I’d love to get Cage on an Even Heathens track the most. Also would love to work with Esham, Insane Clown Posse, Danny Brown and Obie Trice. I’m a big fan of the Detroit scene, some of the best are from Michigan.
