11. Seven Spherez - Light It Up
12. Seven Spherez - The Glorious Fight Ft Nappi Music
Review:
Seven Spherez is back with a new album! This group never
dissapoints me. Dr G is a legendary producer in the UK hip hop scene with years
of experience. Ghost One always keeps the pen sharp. His rhyme schemes are deadly
and on point. I am glad that Seven Spherez is back with a hardknocking boom bap
album, after making a trap album. Don’t get me wrong: the trap album was dope,
but boom bap is the thing that I love more, esspecially when it’s hardknocking and
grimy.
This album contains a lot of dope features like Chris
Rivers, Tha Soloist, DJ TMB and many more that add value to this album. Seven
Spherez could defo make a classic album without features, I have no doubts
about that, but they put some fitting artists on this album. The beats and
bars really bring me back tot the 90’s. The sounds have a large varation from
smooth and hyped up boom bap bangers (Light Em Up, Puffing with the Reaper) to grimy
hardcore hip hop beats (The Glorious Fight, Clap Shit, Hard Phonics)! This is
definitely an album that brings you back to the golden years of hip hop. If you
are a fan of that sound I really recommend you to buy this project.
Favorite track:
My favorite track is ‘Light It Up’. The beat really
brings the 90’s vibe and Ghost One's insane fast and accurate flow on it is epic!
This is a track you wanna hear at a dope hip hop event. I can already see
everyone jumping around to this track! The high energy of the track is really intense.
Long story short:
If you are a fan of grimy and hyped up boom bap beats with
dope rhyme schemes, you should get this album! I am glad that Seven Spherez is
back with another boom bap album. Their concept was to make a grimy 90’s album and
this album is an success.

Interview with King Shem about Black Hesher
Wassup King Shem. We know you as a versatile hip hop producer,
but what influenced you to make a project like Black Hesher?
Basically just where I am at in my life.
I grew up on hip hop but there are so many music genres that influence the music i create. I think this record was 30 years in the making and really expresses who I am musically and as a person. At first I wasn't going to make anymore albums of my own.
I wanted just focus on producing, but i kept hearing this album in my head so I started recording it for myself. The end product was a full blown album that really pushed me into new sonic areas.
How did you reached the realistic rock sound in this project?
Right from the start i set out to make a rock album with hip hop still in the DNA of the music.
I used alot of real instruments and sounds. I took a lot of jam sessions and then sampled from them like it was a old record to get that gritty hip hop feel in the drums. Some stuff is programed amd some stuff is live. I wanted it to blur the lines between live and studio stuff to give it a raw feel.
The album really crosses so many genres including hip hop, punk, 80's metal, 80's new wave, 70's funk, 60's psychedelic rock, and other mash ups along the way.
Was the vocal recording process for you different than the process you are going
through when you make a hip hop project?
The vocal process wasn't really different but my set up was.To get the sound I wanted I used a cheap 40 dollar condenser mic with an 8 channel mixer to get raw dirty vocals.
I didn't want things to sound clean or pretty.
Especially on songs where sonically the music may sound clean or pretty, I had to drity up my vocals.I definitely was influenced by the vocals on Beastie Boys "Check Your Head" album. Also i was heavily influnced by Joy Division, Black Flag , and 70's B-Movie soundtracks.
This project contains some dope features! Why did you picked those specific persons?
Mostly the features are people i've worked with in the past or members of my crew and inner circle. Everyone really brought their A game to this album.
ILLtemper ,Diastro, and Halfwit helped bring the focus on the hip hop portion of the album.
Van Brando and J. Andrews helped bridge the gap into more rap rock territory. And Morgan Helfer is like a goddess from the the sky who just transported the songs she was featured on to another dimension.
Can the fans expect Black Hesher 2?
Yes, I am already working on a follow up Black Hesher EP for the fall after I finish my summer and fall tours. and the second album I hope to be done sometime in the spring before I head out on my spring tour.
This is the next chapter in my music career so i feel like i'm going to keep doing Black Hesher records until it's not fun anymore.
If there will be a Black Hesher 2, which artists would you like to have on it?
As far as people I want to work with I kinda let things happen organically. I might make a song and think someone might be perfect on it. Other times songs can come about just by hanging out with another artist. So I guess time will tell what happens next.
What more can the fans expect from you in the near future?
I'm going on tour for the end of summer and fall. Around the western parts of the US and down south a bit. So my focus is to rock the hell out of every stage I play. Also I plan on doing more visuals/ videos for the Black Hesher album so I'm looking forward to that as well. Eventually I would like to play overseas as well. The future is looking pretty bright man.

Review: Edd Bundy - Cake Crusader
Review: Edd Bundy - Cake Crusader
Tracklist
1. The Recipe Intro
2. Rap Titans
3. The Punisher
4. Angst
5. Half A Desert
6. Rapman
7. Thor Son of Odin
8. So Called Heroes
9. Still Wonder
Intro
Edd Bundy is back with a new instrumental project. His love for cake is represented in this 9 track instrumental project with a superhero theme. I just finished my daily reading in a Zen Buddhism book (This is really useless info), so I can listen to this project mindfully and give you guys an honest review.
Let's do this!
Review
People still don't like to read, so I won't be getting to detailed into all the 9 instrumentals. I am a producer myself, so I could be yapping for hours about one single kick drum sound. I will just gonna give this an quick overview per track.
1. The Recipe Intro
This track is just an intro.. No beats to hear. The intro is well put together, but honestly I am not a really big fan of intros. This one definitely a fitting intro.
2. Rap Titans
This sample catched my attention instantly! The verse part sounds great. Really high energy stuff. The hook has a dope vocal sample in it, which definitely gives a comic vibe. The transition between hook and verse goes really smooth. The beats doesn't have a lot of switches on it, but that not annoying me.
3. The Punisher
I love this guitar sample in this one. My guitar teacher was a bit of a cunt, but I kept my love for the sound of the guitar. This beat is really my style. A deep, sinister vibe that smoothly fades into a hook part. Like the first one, not really a lot of switches in the beat.. but hey, it's a beattape, not a movie soundtrack.
4. Angst
Random fact: The word 'Angst' is Dutch (and also German) for fear. This beat doesn't really strikes fear into me, but has a really heroic, but also sad vibe. Like the homie Edd Bundy lost his cake, but is on a mission to get it back! I love the crashes in this track, also some subtile scratchwork is really catching my attention.
5. Half A Desert
'Half A Desert' is a banger! This orchestral sample bangs! The vocal speech in the beat and the 'Like This' scratch really add versatility to this beat! A short banger!
6. Rapman
This one is a mafia type beat.. well that what my first impression is. Maybe I just watch too much mafia movies. The drums go really well with the cool sample. This could be the soundtrack for Batman when he fights against the mobster goons of the Penguin in a back alley.
7. Thor Son of Odin
This is more of a trap type beat. It has a really heroic vibe to it. Trap isn't really my thing, but this is refreshing. More epicness from the good sir Mr. Bundy.
8. So Called Heroes
Very dope Avengers intro sample, it's really catches my attention. The intro sample fades into a really sad guitar.. and like I told you guys before: I love guitars. Maybe this track was made when Edd Bundy stepped on some cake.. we will never know. What I do now is that this beat is really deep and has some nice switches in it.
9. Still Wonder
'Still Wonder' opens with an epic sample with a little vocal fragment in it! YES.. Vocal samples! This is a really hyped track with nice switches in it!
Long story short (The Overview)
Edd Bundy's goal was to deliver a comic book / superhero themed instrumental project and that's exactly what he did: creating an epic instrumental project. My only point of attention is that the beats were looped.. like someone was suppose to rap on it. Anyways this can is the style Edd choose and I don't wanna be a cunt about it. I am a man that likes switches in beats (when the beats are not for an MC) This is a matter of taste. And with that said Edd Bundy is a hip hop beatmaker and not a movie score composer (at least I think so). Edd Bundy created an project that has banging beats on it. The beats are mixed very well and you can clearly hear that Eddie is a veteran producer that knows what he is doing.
This album is downloadable for free, so get it for free or make a donation to the good man. He clearly deserves that after creating this project.
Favorite track
'The Punisher' is my favorite track.
This one is deep and sinister at the same time. I was really vibing to this one.. Love it!
